The Six Swans

From Grimms' Fairy Tales, by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm

This reader is from Grimms' Fairy Tales, collected by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in the early nineteenth century. The Grimm brothers gathered folktales from across Germany and published them so families everywhere could share the old stories. This text reflects its era; a few period terms have been modernised. 'The Six Swans' teaches the power of courage, sacrifice and faithfulness: a sister's silent devotion breaks a terrible curse and saves the ones she loves.
